Happy 49th Anniversary to Mom and Dad!!! According to the "traditional" listing (e.g., 1st = paper, 50th = gold), there is nothing special noted for 49th (guess they have to hang around until next year). However, according to the "modern" listing, the 49th is the "Luxuries" Anniversary. I suggested they go out to McDonald's . . . and order two luxurious burgers . . . without coupons!

There's no good segue here, so my apologies. Last night we were invited to a wonderful party at the Four Seasons Hotel by PMA Re. But this morning, there was very bad news: the company has been downgraded to a rating that makes it unable to continue doing business. Even with all the bad business news I've read in the past couple of years, this really hits home. These people are much more than a market and a client. They are our friends.
