Beautiful day today - no humidity, lower temperatures and no Canadian smoke. I read an article the other day that confirmed what we already suspected about the smoke: it was all a foiled attempt by the Canadians to disguise their invasion of the US. As reported by Satirewire, the Canadians planned to use the smoke to hide their movements but they set it off too quickly. As one critic asked, "You were going to invade America just using smoke?"
"And mirrors," said the Canadian spokesperson, "Lots and lots of mirrors."
Ten minutes after eight this morning, my phone rang in the office. It was Maura asking if there was any word on Jennifer's baby. I thought that was very nice of her until I remembered that Maura had picked today in the Baby Pool.
Jennifer had a doctor's appointment this morning and then came into the office. She will be out after today, since her due date is Saturday. We'll miss having her around for a few months!
[Maura called back this afternoon to remind Jen that she had nine hours in which to give birth so that Maura could win the pool.]
Brief yet major crisis on one account this morning and the rest of the day was pretty quiet. I have several pre-course case studies to read before my Wharton Executive Course in a couple of weeks, so it was nice to have some time for that. Luckily, I discovered that one of them was a case study we did two years ago!
[Now if only I could remember what the answers were.]
