And...we're off! The car service will pick us up at 3:30 a.m. tomorrow morning to take us to JFK so that we can begin our multi-continental trip. It's a 6 hour 40 minutes flight to London, although that is shorter than the option offered by Google Maps, which takes 29 days, 10 hours.

If you go to Google Maps - Directions and put in New York, NY to London, England, they actually give you directions. There are several steps to get you out of NYC onto I-95, through Connecticut and into Massachusett and then this:

19. Take exit 24 A-B-C on the left toward I-93 N/Concord NH/S Station/I-93 S/Quincy
0.4 mi/1 min

20. Merge onto Atlantic Ave
0.8 mi/3 mins

21. Turn right at Central St
0.1 mi

22. Turn right at Long Wharf
0.1 mi

23. Swim across the Atlantic Ocean
3,462 mi/29 days 0 hours

24. Slight right at E05
0.5 mi/2 mins

25. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto E05/Pont Vauban
0.1 mi

[Brilliant.]

Later today I have to take Miss Suki to the "Kitty Spa" (vet's) - and I believe that duct tape may be needed to get her into the cat carrier. Last time we did it, it took two people and I was amazed at how limber our squirming fat cat could be.

So, check back around May 6th or so. Assuming that we haven't been eaten by something, we'll let you know how the trip was!

"Wherever we go, across the Pacific or Atlantic, we meet, not similarity so much as 'the bizarre'. Things astonish us, when we travel, that surprise nobody else."
