 JIM & JACQUE'S WEDDING - SCOTLAND 1999 - Part Three

Tuesday, 12 October, 1999 - Culcreuch Castle Fintry
After breakfast in the Laird's Room, I went off walking around the castle and into town. It was cool but nice. Back to the castle for lunch in the bar. It was a rest and recovery day for all. There was a group of about three cars that went to do errands (pick up wedding legal papers, batteries for cameras etc), and the remainder rested, read, walked, etc.

Mom and Dad moved into the Napier Suite, as there was another guest who need a room on a lower floor. It was so lovely and looked over the front lawn and the loch. There was a fireplace with two red wingback chairs in front. The bed was a four poster and the bathroom was as big as a small bedroom.

We had drinks in the Drawing Room, before going down to the Dungeon for dinner. As Jeff says, it was a "Yoyo" dinner - "You're On Your Own." We ate about 8:00 p.m., talked and had yet another good time, although thankfully a bit more subdued than our past nights. We all said our goodbyes as we were leaving early the next morning. Jim and Jacque are heading to London and then France and Spain. The remaining Haganders are going to London for a few days. Mom and Dad are heading back to Edinburgh and I am catching a flight to London and on to Philly.

Wednesday, 13 October, 1999 - Culcreuch Castle Fintry - Edinburgh - Philadelphia
We had an early breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and several of the staff and some of the wedding party got up early to say goodbye. Andrew, the manager of the castle seemed almost sad to see us go, although he admitted it would be more quiet. He said he's never had anyone "play the glasses" before.

Jeff drove to the railroad station in Stirling, and we said goodbye to Mom and Dad. It felt odd to be driving in the car without a huge suitcase behind me. We drove to the Edinburgh airport and they dropped me off to go return the car. I waited for my flight to London and then on to Philly. What a wonderful trip...and how lucky I am to be part of such a terrific family. Thank you to all, especially Jim and Jacque for letting us share their day.
