The Hurricane Formerly Known As Jeanne is paying us a visit today. Not that I'm complaining, mind you - I'll take a drizzly day over 120 mph winds and horizontal rain storms.

Looks like California, is getting a bit jealous of all this Mount St. Helen's earthquake stuff, and decided to have a sizable event of her own.

PARKFIELD, California (AP) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 struck central California on Tuesday and was felt as far north as San Francisco and Sacramento, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

An aftershock of 5.0 magnitude struck four minutes later.

Hmmm . . . hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanos, what's next? Swarms of locust?

Hellllppppp meeee!

ARGHHHH!!! Apparently so! Well, maybe not swarms. And not exactly locust either. But it is an insect!

I found a website that has a webcam of Mount St. Helens - all Volcano, all the time. When I went to the site, they had another visitor to the mountain this morning, so I saved the picture.

[Run away, run away!]

Quote du jour:

"A fly, Sir, may sting a stately horse and make him wince; but one is but an insect, and the other is a horse still."
