We bought Suki a new bed. Technically, we bought a new bed for our bedroom, but it was for Suki. Okay, actually it was for me since I was the one ending up in the middle with no room. And she now has a new routine for the new bed.

First, she stays downstairs until Gary comes to the landing and calls for her. Then she gallops up the stairs and across the gallery and jumps up on the bed. She goes to the middle between us and lies down next to Gary and demands that he pet her. He does that until we turn off the TV and get ready to go to sleep.

As soon as the TV goes off, she walks to the end of the bed and comes back up along the side next to me. Then she spoons next to me with her head facing the foot of the bed and her back pressed into my side and goes to sleep and this is where she stays all night.

She will, upon occasion, wake up around 4:45 a.m. and be so overwhelmed with happiness that she bursts out purring. VERY LOUDLY. Thankfully, daylight savings time seems to have supressed this urge, at least for the time being. In fact, I get to wake HER up in the morning!
